Synopsis

Pushing Daisies Poll

At the academy, Young Ned suffers many sleepless nights, searching for a way to reconnect with his former happy life ... it comes to him by sneaking into the kitchen and recreating his mother's pie. "The mere smell of it made him feel ... safe and warm and loved".

Meanwhile, Chuck tries to recreate those same feelings with her aunts; but when the homeopathic pies aren't doing their job, she sends Olive to revive happier memories of the aunts' mermaid days. While Vivian is more eager to embrace the past and future, Lily remains irascible, causing the usually submissive sister to turn on her and question her obstinance.

Emerson's newest case has an explosive beginning when an assistant dies by a Scratch 'n Sniff bomb meant for an olfactory expert, Napoleon LeNez, just as he is about to release his landmark book, "The Smell of Success". When the gang concludes that a literary rival is responsible, they receive a threatening warning while the expert receives another attempt on his life.

However, another threat arrives in the form of LeNez's professional rival, Oscar Vibenius, who catches a whiff of Chuck's essence, one that he has never smelled before from a living person ...
